2. That diwali guy?

Advika Rawal:

As I walked into the college, the weight of unfamiliarity crushed me and I couldn't move forward. It was the first day of my college, well it would have been normal if I belonged here but no! I'm a transfer student here and well who changes UNIVERSITY for the THIRD SEMESTER?? Well me of course... The 'GREAT ADVIKA RAWAL'

"Ab bhugat" I muttered to myself and not that my day could get worse, a familiar voice snapped me out of my regret session just to fill up with more regret.

(Now endure)

"Ohh! Here we meet again. Not so pleased to meet you again, miss. Advika Rawal or should I say miss. Chatter Box"

"well... Hi mr. Idk whoever you are, move aside, you're blocking my path" shouted Advika. "And listen, I didn't have any interest in meeting you as well. Now leave, I'm getting late for my class...."

Before she could speak more, the boy cut her off, "ExCusE Me! My name is Ivaan Singh and well you're the one who came in front of me at first. Aur kya keh rahi thi tum us din, that I look...."

Before he could speak further, I completed his words, "that you look like ganji chudail but male version."

(Male version of a female bald ghost)

He looked at me in disbelief and shot me a death glare.

I wanted to walk out from him, "just be quiet and leave" my brain told me but my mouth gave in

"I don't have time for your nonsense,I don't want to be late for the first day and I saw comments in the student's page that the most akdu, deadliest man on the planet is about to teach us in the first period."

Writer's POV:

She bolted like a storm and disappeared in the crowd leaving Ivaan staring with disbelief. His eyes widened. Well nobody had ever made the coldest and inhumane professor speechless 'in his own college'.

"Crazy woman." he muttered under his breath and turned towards the class he needed to attend.

As Advika entered the classroom, she met with unfamiliar gazes upon her, feeling like everyone present there was judging her.

She couldn't help trembling & her anxiety didn't make it any better, before anxiety could take over her, she walked at the back of the classroom and sat on the last bench where she felt no one would see her.

Advika settled at the last seat not to gain attention. She was looking around processing the classroom while a soft voice interrupted her gaze, she turned towards the source of sound

"May I sit here?? There's no empty seat left." A girl whom she supposed was her new classmate asked her.

Advika glanced around to see if there were empty seats left and her eyes landed on the other row where two whole benches was vacant.
"Didn't she just say she couldn't find an empty seat?? " Advika thought to herself.

"Well there is an empty seat right there" she narrowed her eyes as she looked at the girl before the girl muttered

"Technically, there isn't. It's ok if you don't want me to be here, I'll adjust somewhere else"

"It's ok if you want to sit here but why are you lying to me that there's no empty seat left?" Advika asked.

The girl slided beside Advika and said that the two benches on the other row belonged to some spoiled kids and they were the least she wanted to pick a fight with.

"You know, they're the worst people I've ever seen like flexing parents'money, is that all they've got?? I hate those spoiled brats, they live on their parents' money and then pick up on people who are poorer than them."

"At least we've got things to do rather than bragging about how you bought a new 'chanel' bag from your dad's credit card." She added.

Advika's new benchmate seemed to be very interesting but not to her of course.

She was glaring at the new girl like she came straight from another planet and was the strangest thing to ever exist.

But godd!! would she stop talking? NO

Oblivious to Advika's death glare, the new girl was talking about those bully animatedly

Advika's eyes widened. Her lips parted as if she wanted to speak but no words came out. How could someone talk so much to a person who they've just met.

She blinked in disbelief
Once.
Twice.
Thrice.

She was a real person. That girl, didn't even care to introduce herself. As Advika gave her the permission to sit on the bench, she practically hopped onto the seat & started talking as she knew Advika for ages.

"Uh..." as Advika was about to speak, the girl sheepishly smiled and practically shouted

"OH NO, I haven't even asked your name, WHAT IS IT?""

Advika glared at her before speaking, frustration evident in her voice

"Why are you shouting, mein dusri class mein nahi hun, dheere bologi toh bhi sunai dega."

(I'm not in the next class, I'll hear you even if you speak with a low volume)

She shifted uncomfortably in her seat as the students in the class had turned their heads towards the source of sound. And lord!! she hated attention.

"Sorry excitement mein aawaaz tez hojati hai. Waise naam to batao apna"

(Sorry, my voice raises when I'm excited. By the way, tell me your name.)

"Advika, Adivika Rawal" "Aur tumhara??"

(And yours?)

"Aadya Roy. Friends?" she asked in a playful voice.

Advika, ever the one who hated sharing her personal space with anyone refused politely. well.. not so politely "I only have one friend & I'm happy with her"

Aadya being caught off guard by her reply, stared at her for a moment "well you know, one can have more than one friend."

"well... not me!"

"You'll have one, soon." Aadya added nonchalantly.

Before the conversation could escalate any further, the class fell silent as a tall 6'2 figure appeared on the door.

The class stood up as a sign of respect towards the professor and as he gestured them to sit down before he spoke

"So students, you might know me already but if you've selected literary history as an elective subject for this semester or an exchange student which in my record is only one, then it's professor Ivaan Singh and let me tell you

I won't entertain any misbehaviour in the name of 'memories' & 'fun'."

"If you came here for fun, then you may voluntarily leave my class. There should be no disturbance unless it's an emergency. I hope I made myself clear, if yes then let's delve into the topic."

With that, he began writing the topic on the board while Advika's jaw dropped at the sight infront of her.

The guy, who she hated, her sworn enemy turned out to be her professor. Among the very rare occasion of her arguing with people,
the one who mostly kept quiet even when she wanted to kill the person alive.

Her professor turned out to be the one whom she fought with. Whom she called weird names. 'Suar ki tatti' and what not.

"You're doomed Advi. WHY ME?" She cursed herself internally.

"Girl, why do you look like you wanna disappear in the air" Aadya asked as she noticed Advika's shift in expression.

"Because I want to" Advika replied wanting the ground to swallow her whole. If she got noticed, she would be DEAD.

"Rest in hell Advika, CONGRATULATIONS, TU SABSE BADI PAAGAL HAI" she was cursing herself internally paying no heed to what the professor was teaching in the class.

(You're the biggest fool)

Her loss, Ivaan looked at her, no stared, no he glared at her and

"The girl sitting at the back" he called out. No response because our main character was lost in her own world.

"Advikaaaa, sir bula rhe tumhe" Adya spoke. Still no response. Adya pinched her arms.

(Sir's calling you)

"Ahhh" Advika winced. "Miss. What's your name? I've already said, I won't tolerate distractions in my class." Ivaan said, his voice held authority.

"Isko pata hai mera naam still he's behaving like this, akdu kahin ka" she thought that she thought to herself but surprise, surprise

(He knows my name and he's still behaving like this. Asshole.)

She.said.it.out.loud.

Enough for him to hear as he had walked up to her.

"Ahemm...", Ivaan said while clearing his throat, "Answer the most akdu professor according to whatever student's group of yours was that."

"Advii, beta tu toh gayi aaj. Hey dharti maata mujhe nigal kyu nahi leti" she screamed internally.

(Dear Earth, why don't you swallow me already?)

"What's your name? And I'm leaving you today because it's the first time, if this mistake is repeated, kindly don't attend my class" Ivaan said.

"A..Ad..Advika Rawal" Advika stammered.

"Ok miss. Advika, I'll give you a chance and remember, this is your very first and the last warning. I hope I made all of you clear as well." Ivaan spoke with firmness in his voice.

The bell rang and he went out of the classroom.

"Yaar Advika, koinaa he's like this from the day he started teaching." Aadya said trying to comfort her.

(It's okay Advika)

"Meri aajtak itni bezzati nahi hui jo mere 1st day mein hi hogayi" Advika replied.

(I was never embarrassed this much till this day)

"Chhodo yaar, ye hai hi aise. Next time se dhyaan rakhna." Aadya added.

(Leave it, he's like this only. You need to take care from the next time)

Other classes went on and finally the final bell rang. Advika picked her bagpack and rushed home, to her home. Trisha.

As soon as she reached their apartment, Advika opened the door and started speaking all in single breath

"Trishuu yaar I missed you and aaj mera zindagi ka sabse bura din tha, I met that monster today and guess whatt..."

(Today was the worst day of my life)

Trisha came with a glass of water "Advii! Apni gaadi thoda dheere kar, saans toh lele pehlee! aur le ye paani, aur konse monster ki baat karrahi tu?"

(Advii! Take a deep breath. Here, take this water and what monster are you talking about?)

She gulped the whole glass of water in one go and continued "yaar wohi diwali wala ladkaa, yaad hai?"

( Do you remember that diwali guy?)

"Wait! Wo ganji chudail ka male version?" Trisha added reading her mind.

"Haan wohii, he turned out to be my professor, meri zindagi barbaad hogayii" she fake cried.

(Yes, the same guy, he turned out to be my professor. I'm doomed)

"Best of luck betaa hahahaah" Trisha burst out laughing.

Beta- kid.
